        Things to Know Once you are There


  • Go to the toilet before you leave your accommodation! Or Always have some change with you incase you need to go.
  • Always ask for a receipt when you are not sure at certain places.
  • Bargain For everything and ask few shops to compare prices before you buy anything.
  • Always Ask the prices upfront if they are not displayed.
  • Buy your drinks at the local supermarkets and take them with you, as it might cost you 4 times more in some areas where there is only 1 shop available.
  • Iztuzu beach in Dalyan is under protection for the sea turtles to lay their eggs. So in order to let sea turtles to lay their eggs and let them produce in safe environment, you are not allowed to do the followings at the beach.  
    • From May 1to Oct 31, entrance to the beach after 20:00 is not allowed.
    • Do not dig the sand
    • Do not place sunbeds and/or sunbrellas.
    • Do not ride a motor vehicle on the sands.
    • Do not sail around the preserved area.
  • There are so many people in Bodrum offering to sell you excursions at a fraction of the price of the tour operator. You may find yourself seeing less of the site and more of the carpet warehouse or local shops.
  • Ask to buy in liras, it will be cheaper.
  • Driving in Turkey is scary always wear your seat belts when you are in a taxi or public transport.

    Take good factor sun cream and make sure you use it, keep yourself hydrated and enjoy your holiday.

  • Switch your mobile phone off when you are on a bus.

  • If you want to ring home or your friends in Turkey - then consider purchasing a Pay as You Go SIM Card in Turkey. A Mobile Telephone is known as a Cep Telefonu - Pocket Telephone and a Pay as You Go SIM Card is known as a Hazır Kart - Ready Card. The main server in Turkey is TurkCell (Always ask to test the card if you are using it with your own mobile phone)
